o2 SURFTOWN MUC – the perfect wave
Successful use of PLANFRED in the major o2 SURFTOWN MUC project
)
o2 SURFTOWN MUC is a flagship project for sport, architecture and sustainable leisure activities in Germany. It combines state-of-the-art wave technology, sustainable construction and unique leisure experiences that are unprecedented in this form in Germany.
It is the first professional surfing facility in Germany where waves up to 2.5 m high and up to 18 seconds long roll in the middle of Bavaria - regardless of the weather and season.
)
It is also an ecological showcase project for leisure architecture with a new level of sustainability. It is powered by 100 % green electricity, with up to 90 % generated by photovoltaics. The water cycle consists of rainwater and groundwater with closed filter technology. No fossil fuels are used for operation and heating.
“With PLANFRED, we always had the certainty that everyone was working at the same level - that was crucial for the smooth implementation of this major project.” - Michael Mardofel M.A. Architecture
