PLANFRED as a Trusted Standard at MJM Architects Maurer & Partner
When a listed historic building is transformed into a modern kindergarten, architectural sensitivity and well-structured project coordination become equally important.
The Project
The municipality of Wullersdorf is converting the historic “Melkerstadl” building into a kindergarten with daycare facilities. Around 414 m² of usable space will accommodate one kindergarten group and one daycare group, including all supporting rooms.
What makes the project unique is the careful preservation of the existing historic structure. The conversion follows a “house within a house” concept, while all façade work is coordinated closely with the Austrian Federal Monuments Authority. Previously bricked-up arches are being reopened, and large timber-framed windows bring natural light into the classrooms while creating direct access to the outdoor play areas with playground equipment, sand pits and natural shading.
PLANFRED as an Established Standard
Projects involving heritage protection requirements, multiple specialist planners and a public-sector client demand reliable project communication and clear documentation.
The renowned Vienna-based architecture firm MJM Architects Maurer & Partner has been working with PLANFRED for many years:
“Whether residential developments, hospitals, commercial projects or educational buildings — PLANFRED has reliably supported us across a wide variety of projects for many years. The platform has become an established standard in our office because it enables simple and legally traceable communication with all project participants.”
